Personalised Christmas Photo Gifts | 3D Crystal, UK Made
Personalised Christmas Photo Gifts
Order by Monday 21 December for delivery by Christmas Eve.
A photograph you already love, engraved inside solid K9 optical crystal and wrapped in a lined box. It is the gift that cannot be duplicated by anyone else buying the same thing, because the picture inside it is yours.
Every crystal is made to order by Sarah and Shaun at our studio in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire — over 15,000 of them in four years, and 500+ Excellent reviews on Trustpilot. Free text engraving, background removal and free UK delivery are included in the price. If you'd like to see your crystal before we make it, tick the preview box when you order — it's free, we'll email it within 24 hours, and nothing is engraved until you're happy with it.
What people actually order at Christmas
We would rather tell you what sells than what we would like to sell.
- The heart, from £69.99 — our biggest Christmas seller by a distance. It suits a close-up of one or two faces filling the frame. Couples, a parent, the dog.
- The tall rectangle, from £59.99 — second, and the right answer for a portrait or a standing photo where the heart would crop something out.
- The rectangle, from £59.99 — third, and the one to choose for a family group. Larger sizes hold more faces at full detail.
- The Christmas ornament, £39.99 — the seasonal one. Eight centimetres of crystal, engraved with a photo, to hang on the tree. People tend to buy a new one each year, which is rather the point of it.
- Keyrings and necklaces, from £39.99 — the stocking option, and what people add for a sibling or a grandchild alongside the main gift.
Roughly half of all Christmas crystal orders have a light base added, from £29.99. There is a reason for that, and it is below.
Choosing by who it is for
Mum, dad, nan or grandad
The photograph they would choose is usually an old one, and old ones engrave well. A print from the 1980s, laid flat and photographed on a phone in daylight without flash, is one of the most common things we work from. A tall rectangle holds a portrait; a large rectangle holds the whole family.
A partner or husband or wife
A close-up of the two of you in a heart, or, if they are not an ornament person, a cube from £40 that sits on a desk, or a leather keyring at £49.99 that gets carried rather than displayed.
The dog or the cat
About a third of everything we engrave is somebody's pet. A close-up where the eyes are clear is what works; there is a bone shape at £99.99 if you want something unmistakably about dogs, and the full pet range here.
Someone facing their first Christmas without somebody
This is one of the most common reasons people order from us in December, and it deserves saying plainly rather than being buried under tinsel. A photograph someone already treasures, engraved in glass and left out on a shelf, tends to be welcomed in a way a general gift is not. There is a longer, quieter guide at the first Christmas without them, our guide to choosing a memorial crystal, and the range is in memorial 3D photo crystals. If you are unsure about the photo or the wording, send it over and we will tell you honestly what we think before you spend anything.
Why the light base matters more in December
The engraving inside a crystal is only visible because it scatters light. On a windowsill in June it reads perfectly well on its own and we will happily tell you not to bother.
Christmas morning is a different room. It is dark outside, the lamps are on, and the crystal is being opened on a sofa rather than held up to a window. That is exactly the situation a light base is for — it fires light up through the bottom of the glass so the image stands out. Bases start at £29.99, and the rotating one turns the crystal so you see the depth of the engraving rather than one fixed view.
It is the thing people most often come back and add in January. Cheaper to decide now.
Christmas delivery cut-off
Order by Monday 21 December 2026 and your crystal will be with you by Christmas Eve.
If you would like a free preview to approve before we engrave — and on a gift we would recommend it — order a couple of days earlier than that, so there is time for the email to reach you and for you to say yes. The one thing that slows an order down in December is a preview sitting unopened in an inbox, junk folder included.
Free UK delivery is 2–3 working days as standard, and 24-hour delivery is available as a paid option at checkout. December is our busiest month by a wide margin, so if you want the calm version rather than the last-minute one, order in the first week of December.
The preview, and why it exists
Engraving is permanent. Once a name has been spelled wrong inside a block of glass, the only fix is making it again.
So if you'd like to see your crystal before we make it, tick the preview box when you order. It's free, we'll email it within 24 hours, and nothing is engraved until you're happy with it. If the crop or the wording is wrong, we change it and send another. If the crystal arrives and it still is not right, you get a full no-quibble refund — no hoops, no questions.
Every order we take gets the same care, whatever it is for.
Questions we get asked
What is a personalised Christmas photo gift?
It is a photograph of your own, engraved inside a solid block of K9 optical crystal by a laser, using up to 15 million individual points at different depths. The image sits in the middle of the glass in three dimensions rather than being printed on the surface, so there is nothing to fade, peel or scratch. We make every one to order at our studio in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
What is the last day to order for Christmas delivery?
Order by Monday 21 December 2026 and it will be with you by Christmas Eve. If you would like a free preview to approve before we engrave, order a couple of days earlier than that so there is time to look at it. Free UK delivery is 2–3 working days as standard and 24-hour delivery is available as a paid option at checkout.
Can I use a photo from my phone?
Yes. Almost every crystal we make comes from a phone photo. A photo of a printed photo works too, which is how most older pictures reach us. What matters is that the face is in focus and reasonably close, not that the camera was expensive.
What do people usually buy at Christmas?
The heart is our biggest seller at Christmas, followed by the tall rectangle and the rectangle. The 2D crystal Christmas ornament at £39.99 is the seasonal one people buy a fresh one of each year. Roughly half of all Christmas crystal orders have a light base added.
Do I need the light base?
At Christmas, more than at any other time of year. The engraving is only visible because it scatters light, and a crystal opened on a dark December morning in a room lit by a lamp looks flat without one. In June on a windowsill it does not need it. Bases start at £29.99.
Can I have a name or a date engraved?
Yes, and it is free. Names, a date, “Christmas 2026”, or a short line of your own. Keep it short, because a name and a date read beautifully in glass and a paragraph does not.
Is this a suitable gift for someone facing their first Christmas without somebody?
It is one of the most common reasons people order from us in December. A photograph they already treasure, engraved in glass, tends to be welcomed in a way that a general gift is not. If you are unsure about the photo or the wording, send it over and we will tell you honestly what we think before you spend anything.
What if it is not right when it arrives?
Full no-quibble refund, no hoops and no questions. In practice it rarely gets that far, because the free preview catches problems before the laser is switched on.
