A crystal reads perfectly well in daylight on its own. Somewhere dim — a hallway, a mantelpiece, a bedside table in the evening — it goes flat, and that is the job this base does: it lights the engraving from underneath so the image stands out.

Questions we get asked

Do I need one?
Only if the crystal is going somewhere without much natural light. In a bright window it makes very little difference — we would rather tell you that than sell you one you will not use.

Charger or batteries?
Either. A charger is included and batteries work as an alternative.

Will it fit the crystal I already have?
